Cooking for your pet:

Many pet owners routinely feed table scraps to their pet.  Many times this just adds additional calories to their diet resulting in overweight animals.

If you're going to cook for your pet, you need to formulate a diet that has all the right nutrients plus supplements to meet the specific needs of you pet all in the right proportions.

Cats and Dogs have different nutritional requirements.

Dogs are omnivores, like people. So they need protein, carbohydrates, fats and fiber, plus vitamins and minerals. Cats are strictly carnivores. They need a high protein diet that contains animal fat and taurine.

Older animals have different and specific needs.

Before changing the diet of your pet always check with your veterinarian to select foods and supplements that best suit your pet's age, health, activity level and breed.

You can use our supplements in conjunction with home prepared diets to help balance your pet's nutrition.  All of our supplements are manufactured under strict FDA guidelines to insure palatability, nutritional balance and consistency.

See the following recipes for home made veterinary approved diets for your special friend.

[DIET TIP FOR SENIOR DOGS] As dogs age, they need extra protein to preserve muscle mass. Protein supplies the building blocks of muscles and fortifies the immune system. But also keep in mind that dogs in their golden years burn one half or even one-fourth as many calories as young dogs. That’s why it is advised to work with a veterinarian to determine how much to scale back on a senior dog’s daily serving portions.
